Dr. Olgica Laban, epileptologist, will be offering a CEU Program for Nurses

The program will cover seizure terminology, classification, causes and treatments of seizures, epileptic syndromes, status epilepticus, non epileptic seizures and seizure first aid. In addition, epilepsy in women, children and elderly and seizure safety, action plans, seizure diaries and social topics will also be addressed.

Dr. Evan Fertig, co-director of Jersey City Medical Center-Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group will be a Reviewer for Harvard Medical School on-line Continuing Medical Education (CME) course: Genetics: Myoclonic Epilepsy of Infancy.
This case follows a 20-month-old girl with febrile and afebrile seizures. Her clinical presentation and diagnostic workup is most consistent with Severe Myoclonic Epilepsy of Infancy (SMEI), also known as Dravet syndrome.
