Ingredient #1: The career choice

Determining what kind of a career path you would like to follow is the first step.  You need to make a realistic choice (or line up several possibilities) based on your abilities and experience, while factoring in what kind of locations are feasible for your transportation limitations if you have any.  Every state has a Vocational Rehabilitation Department that can assist you with your career choice.  If you visit your local office, a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor will be assigned to you.  There are aptitude tests that you can take to help you settle on an occupation that best suits you.  To locate the office close to you, please go to http://www.disability.gov/employment and search for your state Vocational Rehabilitation Services Department.
