• Age of onset
Most commonly in the first year of life, typically between 4 and 8 months
• Seizure types
- Spasms (infantile spasms, epileptic spasms) are very brief seizures which consist of dra matic, rapid bending forward or backward of the neck, trunk, and/or arms and legs. Spa sms can also be more subtle and consist of a sudden, brief head drop.
- S pasms typically occur in clusters.
