Neuropsychological testing
This is a set of tests that study how the brain functions (attention, memory, speech, processing of information and execution of information). It is done by a neuropsychologist (psychologist specialized in neurological testing) with special training in epilepsy. It usually takes many hours (from 3 to 8 hours). The information obtained is used to understand how the brain is functioning, what are the strengths and weaknesses. That information is used to prevent damaging a specific part of the brain that might be removed with surgery.
