Seizure Frequency

Seizures can occur in different frequencies:
• Single seizure: some patients will have a single seizure. That, by definition, does not constitute epilepsy (need to have more than one). 
• Recurrent seizures: this is same as epilepsy and requires treatment and avoidance/prevention of precipitating factors.
• Clusters of seizures: In some persons, seizures happen in clusters. That means that one seizure will follow the next one and so on, for a limited time.
